Life is always shifting, evolving, and moving forward. The real question is — are you making space for what’s coming next?

To invite new opportunities, start by clearing space in every aspect of your life. Clean your home, your car, your mind, your heart. Let go of the physical and emotional clutter that’s weighing you down so that when something new and exciting arrives, you’re ready to embrace it.
You can’t move forward while holding onto the past. And often, we don’t even realize how tightly we’re clinging to old habits, physical objects, or friendships that no longer serve us. But when you create space intentionally, you invite clarity, growth, and alignment.
“So many of the greatest opportunities in life aren’t about being ready for them, only being open to them.” -Just A Poet Guy
Letting go isn’t the same as giving up. It’s about making room. When you release what no longer serves you, you create space for what truly belongs in your life — a fresh mindset, a new opportunity, an unexpected but meaningful shift.
Just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean it’s your calling. Or if people say you are lucky to have something, it doesn’t mean it’s for you. That’s a hard truth to accept. We stay in situations because they’re familiar, because we put so much time and effort into them, because we should be grateful— even when we sense there’s something more beneath the surface.
Last year, our family faced a difficult decision — to sell our lake home. The home we sketched on a napkin 15 years ago, poured over every design choice and stayed up late debating paint colours and square footage. Every detail, from each room’s view to the patio where we entertained our friends and family, holds a piece of our hearts.
Our children grew up on the lake, spending endless summer days swimming, learning to surf, and roasting marshmallows by the fire. The lake was the backdrop to their childhood. But it no longer brings our family the joy it once did.
Letting go isn’t easy, but I know it’s making space for something new — something we can’t yet see but will one day look back on with gratitude. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, but I like to think this is because there’s a better plan waiting. While closing this chapter is bittersweet, I know the best stories are the ones still unwritten.
Letting go might feel like wasted time, like you should be further ahead, or like things aren’t unfolding as they should. But what if you’re exactly where you’re meant to be? What if, instead of forcing the perfect plan, you trusted the process and allowed life to unfold in its own way?
Not everything needs a flawless strategy. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is breathe, trust, clear the clutter, and see what happens. Let go of the relationships that drain you. Let go of the plans that don’t excite you anymore. The things that steal your energy. Because opportunity only knocks when there’s room for it to enter.
I love the mantra: “Everything I lose creates space for everything I need.”
It’s not always easy to see at the moment, but some of the best things in life come after loss, setbacks, or unexpected change. The business that didn’t work out, the friendship that faded, the house that no longer serves you — these aren’t endings. They’re openings. Space is being made for something better.
If you’re feeling stuck, maybe it’s time to reassess. What can you shift today to make space for something new? Solve the problem or leave the problem. But don’t live with the problem. Because peace comes when you realize that everything outside your control should be outside your mind, too. Let it go, make space, and watch what happens next — life has a way of filling the empty spaces with something even better.
